Spraying UPVC doors & windows - the process
What makes us different?
- On arrival at your property we'll immediately (and quickly) erect a scaffolding tower to give us easy, fast and safe access to your upstairs windows. Pavement, driveways, and plants and shrubs are protected by large canvas sheets. Vehicles are removed to as afe distance.
- Starting with the groundfloor window below the scaffolding tower, the frames are cleaned with speciality cleaning products to remove all dirt and grease and wiped dry. Frames can collect significant build-up of dirt and atmospheric pollutants over time.
- After cleaning, windows are opened and the frame is thoroughly masked to ensure no overspill either inside the window, on the glass or on adjacent brickwork. There is normally no need for us to enter your property as your rooms can be masked from outside..
- Existing silicone sealant is completely removed.
- The frame is lightly abraded and all dust wiped away.
- With speciality UPVC paint there is no need for primer; the paint creates a chemical bond directly with the frame. A light mist coat is applied to check that the frame surface is completley blemish-free. Assuming no blemishes exist, a first coat is applied.
- While the groundfloor window's first coat dries (5-10 minutes), the same process is repeated with the upstairs window immediately above it.
- After the second coat has dried, the doors and drawers are replaced
- Appliances are put back in position.
- All masking materials are removed and the kitchen is thoroughly cleaned.
- All doors are lightly sprayed with primer to give the paint better adhesion and increase its durability.
- Both windows receive three coats to ensure a perfect, flawless finish.
- After ten minutes, new silicone sealant is applied to match the colour of the frames and all masking materials removed. One 'pair' of windows are now completely finished.
- The scaffolding tower is now moved to the next set of windows and the process repeated.
